WILD, WILD WILL
("Bliss" magazine - September 1999 - highlights)
Q) Do you ever miss "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"??
A) The thing about that show is that it's a family. People start to take on the surrogate roles of the characters, you start to have those kinds of concerns for the people that you work with. It's like leaving a family more than leaving a job. but creatively I was starting to feel stagnant, there wasn't anywhere to go.
Q) Why do you think people like you so much??
A) I like to have fun. I like to be silly, make jokes, and people enjoy that. when the camera's on I'm having fun. People can see that when they watch my movies.
Q) What stops you from being a big head??
A) I was in the music business first and that's really cut-throat. I kinda got my footing together before I got into television and the film world. The attention can almost drive you crazy.
Q) Does your wife keep you grounded??
A) she's reality. Jada is completely real, she's uncomfortable with the press and all the attention. She really keeps me in a grounded place - life is the most important thing. Your life and family are the most important things in life.
